Look everyone it's Cinnamon! She's cuddly (not that I have hugged her or any one should hug her... she might eat your nose or something).

Info:
Cinnamon arrived at Carolina Raptor Center in 1999 from Bessemer City, North Carolina. Cinnamon’s injury is not obvious when you see her - her injury is inside her head. Someone found Cinnamon as a baby and decided to rehabilitate her on their own, which is not only illegal but can also be very dangerous for the bird. When American kestrels (and other raptors) hatch from their eggs, they learn what they are by seeing who is feeding them and caring for them. Unfortunately for Cinnamon, instead of being cared for by her American kestrel parents, she was cared for by people! Because Cinnamon never learned that she was an American kestrel, she would not be able to survive on her own in the wild. She is now one of our most popular education birds and has met hundreds of thousands of children from all over the Carolinas, teaching them about the importance of wildlife and the environment.

 bravo on a beautiful portrait of a raptor I adore ...
sharp focus on the eye draws the viewer to its key tool for survival ... its keen sight, if any wants were for this picture it would be slightly more DOF to include the beak a bit more in focus ... This is a WALL Hanger for sure ... ;) any photog worth their weight would want this in their portfolio!

She is absolutely gorgeous. Bummer that she life started off that way, but cool that she will help kids learn why they shouldn't mess with nature when it should be left alone.

That's what your mom said, before I shaved her back! ATHF

Is there some tread left on those tires, or is it just like throwing a hot dog down the hallway? Family Guy

That is an amazing shot!
Very nice composition and the colours are beautifull! The focus on the eye just draws me in to the picture, very well done!

o3o Oh my, she is cuddly looking. How big is she IRL?

And out of curiosity, since she didn't learn how to fend for herself as nature intended her to, how does she find food to eat?

This is an example of people being too kind-hearted, not knowing that they're doing more harm than good...

20cm-ish I wish the US would use more of the metric system so I don't get confused with conversions >_>
she's not all that big and this picture could be considered larger than life :D

This bird lives at a rehab center that educates people about raptors so she gets fed dead mice and what not.
Yeah... hopefully it can be avoided by educating people about what happens when they do things like this. Some people do it on purpose to have a falconers falcon but they don't wanna pay the money for all the licenses D:<

I believe that the US is one of the last places on earth where "miles" still exists. 20 cm...that's pretty small for a raptor. Or is her species supposed to be around that size? =3 *thinks of the local eagles* I swear they're huge.

But..if they're a falconer (OK seriously, is this a word..?) wouldn't they know the basics of bird before even daring to use the title?

Apparently they still use miles in England but it's not really standard to the measurements.
Kestrels are the smallest of falcons so 20cm is the proper size for a bird like her.

Eagles here have wings spans about 3 meters and they can be half a meter-ish tall THEY BE BIG!

LOL falconer is seriously a word (srsly) I dunno some people are stupid >_> they annoy me
